How to Apply for Honorary PhD

Nomination


Individuals can be nominated for an honorary doctorate by an AUP faculty member, department chair, school dean, or other member of the AUP community. Nominations must be accompanied by a letter of support from the nominator, as well as a CV and other supporting materials for the nominee.

Documentation

Review Process

Nominations are reviewed by a committee of AUP faculty members, who make recommendations to the AUP Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees has the final say on all honorary degree awards.

Announcement

If a nomination is approved, the AUP Board of Trustees will announce the award to the recipient and the AUP community.
